Jalan Kee Ann - The "Petaling Street" of Melaka

The Night Market & Food Fare at Jalan Kee Ann, Melaka New Chinatown, is a must for visitors and locals alike. It is an interesting place for locals and tourists alike to enjoy the cool evening at a local night market.

Jalan Kee Ann is transformed into "The Petaling Street of Melaka"  nightly from 6.00pm to 11.00pm. Opened 363 days in a year, the Jalan Kee Ann Night Market and Food Fare is only closed for 2 days in a year i.e. during the first two days of the Chinese New Year.

For food lovers, visitors to the Jalan Kee Ann Night Fare can come and taste Malacca's famous wan ton mee with chillie sauce, yue kwei mee (fish ball mee), fried hor chien, fried radish cake, cendol, char siew fan, satay, nasi campur and many more. Drink your favourite teh tarik at the stalls and watch the world go by as the night progresses.

For fruits, you can buy and taste various exotic tropical fruits - papayas, langsats, dukus, durians, pineapples, pisang emas, mangos, mangosteens, cempedak, star fruits, guava and many more. Besides, eating these fruits, you can also make nutritious fruit juices out of these fruits.

For shoppers, you can leisurely browse through the night market. You can buy cassettes, VCDs, CDs, phone accessories, books, plastic flowers, T-shirts and snacks. Occassionally, you will be able to watch the live performance of a Chinese medicine man selling his wares to curious onlookers.. Though the show can be a little bit noisy at times, it can be an interesting street show if you have the time to spare.
