Tai Chong (Hygienic) Ice Café along Jalan Bunga Raya is a must
stop for visitors and locals alike. This shop has been existence since
1940’s and is a favourite place for young courting couples who want to
hang around and have some local desserts such as Ice Cendol, Pak Poh, Ais
Batu Campur (ABC), ice cream, local coffee and rojak.
Prices are reasonable and range from RM1.50 onwards and local favourites
include Cendol, Air Batu Campur and Pak Poh.
Mdm Wong infront of the Juke Box
Currently, Tai Chong Ice Café is owned operated by Mdm Wong.
The Ice Café boasts of a Juke Box where old songs can be played
when one puts in a 20 cent coin. The setting is unique and reminds one
of the 60’s where Elvis and the Everly Brothers reign supreme.
