The History of Nam Seng Company of Malacca

Drinking coffee is a way of life for the majority of Malaysians. This leads to the production of coffee powder as an essential support for coffee drinkers.

If we trace back the earliest coffee powder producer in Malacca, the likely person is Mr. Kang.

Mr. Kang Chan Yoke, who is 84 years old now came from Xiamen of Hokkien Province in China. He came to Malacca in 1936 and started a small business in producing coffee powder to satisfy the taste of local consumers. Ever since then, “Coffee Powder” business became part of his life. In those days of 1936, the production of coffee powder was done manually and that was a very hard work. In1945 onwards, the production machines gradually replaced the hard labour work. Mr. Kang set Nam Seng Co. in 1950 at 46, New Market Road, Malacca, Malaysia. In 1978, another company Lam Sing Coffee Manufacturers Sdn. Bhd. was formed. After going through a lot of difficulties and experiences, Mr. Kang believes that to produce fine coffee powder, good material source is important and necessary. In 1987, he turned his 40 acres of rubber plantation into a coffee plantation and also set up a coffee bean processing factory in Ayer Keroh Industrial Estate, Malacca to produce high quality coffee powder. It is well known that Lam Sing Coffee Manufacturers Sdn. Bhd. is the only coffee powder manufacturer who processes from raw green coffee seeds to the final “Coffee Powder” product in Malacca.

How to prepare a pot of coffee

Use hot water to rinse up the pot. Put in PUPIL BRAND Coffee All.If you like a stronger brew, just add more coffee powder. Add freshly boiled water and leave to brew for a few minutes.

For Hot Coffee

Just pour the hot coffee into the cup, serve with sugar or milk to taste.

For Iced Coffee

Just pour the hot coffee into a ice-filled glass. Serve with sugar or milk to taste.
