Melaka new Jusco Superstore is expected to open for business in December 2009.
This store will be the biggest Jusco Store in Malaysia. All works and roads have been completed and new stores are being refurbished.

LET US CELEBRATE OUR 52ND. MERDEKA ANNIVERSARY

On the early hours of 31st. August 2009, all Malaysians will celebrate our 52nd. Anniversary of Merdeka. On that auspicious night, Malaya gained her Independence from Britain after Tunku Abdul Rahman and his team negotiated for her Independence. Our Independence was carried out in a lawful and civil manner and no blood was shed. We achieved our Independence peacefully.
MELAKA CELEBRATES 1ST YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE CITY LISTING

Melaka will be celebrating her 1st. year anniversary of Unesco World Heritage City Listing tomorrow. All are invited to attend this celebration at Independence Memorial at Bandar Hilir at 8.00pm tomorrow.

PROPOSED MELAKA AERORAIL LIGHT RAIL PROJECT CAN BENEFIT MELAKA NEW CHINATOWN

The proposed Melaka Aerorail Light Rail project is being exhibited for public viewing. The Jalan Tun Ali Station is located just north of Melaka New Chinatown and is within walking distance. This project will be good for Melaka New Chinatown as more people are encouraged to travel here by rail or water taxis in the future.
Public is invited to view the plans of Melaka proposed Aerorail project. This public viewing was launched today and will be opened to the public for their comments and suggestions for a period of 3 months.
HANG TUAH BRIDGE TO BE DEMOLISHED IN JULY 2009

Malaccans and visitors alike are reminded that in July 2009, the Hang Tuah Bridge, near the former Cathay Cinema, will be demolished.
A new suspension bridge is expected to be built across the Melaka River.
The current Hang Tuah bridge has piles placed in Melaka River. These piles not only restrict water flow but also traps rubbish underneath the bridge.
As the final phase of the Melaka River Beautification project, the Hang Tuah bridge will be replaced with a better bridge that enhances the value of Melaka River.

Malacca River clean and ready for tourists
MALACCA: The rehabilitated Malacca River is set to become a major tourist attraction, with its river cruise activities capable of attracting 500,000 visitors this year.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said the state would continue to promote the river as a tourist product, including starting a water taxi service by the end of the year.
“Based on ticket sales last year, some 350,000 visitors took the Malacca River cruise for their sightseeing.

Melaka To Introduce Water Taxi Service
MELAKA, May 30 (Bernama) -- The Melaka government plans to introduce a 'water taxi' service along Sungai Melaka and the coastal areas in the state before the end of the year.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said the water taxis would provide service from Melaka Sentral to the Dataran Sungai Melaka and from the Sungai Melaka estuary to the Sungai Linggi Jetty and Sungai Rambai Jetty.
He said this in his speech at the 'Pesta Sungai Melaka' launching ceremony, here tonight.
